Recognized for outstanding service in the business and philanthropic community
CHICAGO, IL, March 11, 2011 – Instant Technology President/CEO Rona Borre was recognized as a 2011 Enterprising Woman of the Year by Enterprising Women magazine today at the Boca Raton Resort in Boca Raton, FL. This is the magazine’s ninth annual tribute for top women business owners in North America and around the globe. Borre was one of eight women honored in the category of annual sales revenues totaling more than $10 million and up to $25 million
Award recipients must demonstrate that they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities. Many of the recipients are leaders in key organizations that support the growth of women’s entrepreneurship.
Enterprising Women Publisher/CEO Monica Smiley called the 2011 Enterprising Women of the Year Class “an amazing group of women.” “Nearly every company represented on this list had significantly increased its revenues in the past year, despite the economic downturn,” she explained. “Many had huge increases in revenues — double, or even quadruple, increases. Each winner also demonstrated a track record of community leadership and the important component of mentoring other women in business or being role models for girls who aspire to be entrepreneurs.”
“This was the strongest list of finalists in the nine-year history of this awards program,” Smiley said. “During the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, these women continued to find ways to grow their businesses and give back to others. I could not be more proud to recognize these very deserving women and shine the spotlight on their accomplishments.”
